Collection: Snow Peak

Snow Peak was founded in 1958 in Niigata Prefecture, Japan, by mountaineer Yukio Yamai. Determined to create better mountaineering equipment than what was available, he leveraged the metalworking tradition of the Tsubame-Sanjo area.

Starting in the 1980s, his son Tohru Yamai steered the brand toward camping. Tents like the Amenity Dome and titanium tableware became industry benchmarks. The Takibi Fire & Grill, the brand's foldable fire pit, reflects the Japanese culture of gathering around a shared fire.

With Lisa Yamai, the third generation of the family, technical apparel was introduced. The Takibi line, launched in 2016, uses fabrics with spark-resistant fibers, designed for sitting by the fire without worry. Alongside this, insulated pieces like the Flexible Insulated line combine warmth with minimalist lines.
