Saucony was founded in 1898 in Kutztown, Pennsylvania. Four entrepreneurs established the Saucony Shoe Manufacturing Company on the banks of Saucony Creek, from which the brand takes its name. The brand established itself as one of the pioneers of American athletic footwear.

The turning point came in 1977, when Runner's World praised the Hornet model, turning it into an immediate success. Then, in the 1980s, the Jazz arrived, which remains one of the most beloved models today for its cushioned comfort and casual design. The Shadow, launched in 1988, solidified the brand's technical reputation among the most demanding runners.
