Nike

Nike was founded in 1964 in Portland, Oregon, when Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman established Blue Ribbon Sports. The brand changed its name to Nike in 1971 and adopted the Swoosh. The logo, designed by Carolyn Davidson, went on to become one of the most recognized symbols in the world.

Nike thus built its identity around models that made history in sneaker culture. The Air Force 1 arrived in 1982, while the Air Max line was born in 1987 thanks to the visible Air technology in the sole. The brand also made historic collaborations, such as the one with Michael Jordan that gave birth to the Air Jordan brand.
