Lee

Lee was founded in 1889 in Salina, Kansas, when H.D. Lee started a wholesale distribution business. In 1912, he opened the first clothing factory, dedicated to overalls and work jackets. The following year saw the birth of the Union-All, the first one-piece work jumpsuit.

In 1925, the Lee 101 Cowboy Pants arrived, developed with cowboys and rodeo riders. Instead of rivets, they featured stitching so as not to damage the saddle. In 1927, Lee was also the first manufacturer to use zippers in workwear. In 1946, the Lazy S stitching on the back pockets and the Twitch leather label appeared, both of which remain hallmarks of the brand to this day.

Alongside workwear-inspired denim, such as the loose-fitting Workwear Baggy jeans, the brand now offers the premium Lee Gold line. Launched in 2026, it uses Italian denim, regenerative cotton, and boiled wool knitwear.
