Climbing Music

Klättermusen was founded in 1975 in Umeå, Sweden, by Peter Askulv, a biologist, chemist, and climbing enthusiast. The name means "climbing mouse" in Swedish, inspired by a well-known children's book character in the country. It all started from a practical need. Askulv, dissatisfied with the equipment available for Scandinavian mountaineering, began sewing and designing backpacks and technical apparel for himself and his friends.

Over the years, the small workshop transformed into a company specializing in high-end mountain apparel and equipment. The brand's motto, "Maximum Safety, Minimum Impact," encapsulates its dual soul: extreme technical performance and a strong commitment to sustainability. Klättermusen uses organic cotton, recycled nylon from fishing nets, and fluorocarbon-free waterproofing treatments. Each garment is designed to last and be repaired, not replaced.
