Department Five was founded in 2007 from the meeting between Mario Cangini and Nicola Silvagni, two friends with a shared history in Italian fashion. Their paths had already crossed in the 1970s. Cangini had opened the Space boutique in Milano Marittima, a benchmark for the style of the time.

The brand was thus born from the fusion of this know-how and Catria Confezioni, a manufacturing company with roots in 1970. The result is a style that mixes military functionality, workwear attitude, and a rock spirit that characterizes every collection.

Jeans, jackets, and denim shirts remain the brand's strong suit. They are joined by t-shirts, polo shirts, and knitwear designed for a total look wardrobe, featuring fine materials and Italian craftsmanship.
